School Committee Finalizes Budget For 1926 27
The adjourned meeting approved a 1926 27 budget of 111 950 a rise of 1 950 over last year and asked the Town Council to include it in the town budget. Salaries total 100 750 with various increases and components including teachers, superintendent, and clerical staff. Receipts from state and other sources bring the town tax estimate to 111 950. requests include 500 for the teachers retirement fund and a possible pay rise for grade teachers, with vote on by law changes and salary limits deferred pending taxpayers at the financial town meeting.

Injured in Providence: Dion Suffers Arm and Hand Injury
Albert Dion Jr. 19 son of Mrs Mary Dion and the late Albert Dion of Bradford Street was seriously hurt in Providence last Saturday while helping unload a heavy barrel from a truck owned by Joseph Dupont. Dion slipped on icy pavement, the barrel fell, fracturing his left forearm and crushing his left hand. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where surgeons amputated the middle finger of his left hand.
