The Bristol chapter of the D A R met in Warren at Mrs Max Turner’s home with 28 members. Ways and Means reported two successful whists netting about 55 dollars for state flag purchases for Warren and Bristol schools. A St Valentine tea closed the gathering with resolutions on Emma Westcott Bullock’s death.

Bristol School Committee Meets Sets First Monthly Report

The Bristol School Committee received and printed annual reports from the President, Medical Inspector, and Colt Memorial High School principal at last night’s meeting. Superintendent George C. Minard presented his first monthly report noting 1672 pupils registered, 1530.7 average membership, 91 percent attendance in January, and high truancy levels. He cited crowding, staffing gaps, and pending decisions on school schedule and programs, including evening classes and a new office practice course at the High School.
