Injured Boy Rescued From Prudence Island by Tender
Abraham Bentsen nine of Church Avenue Shawomet suffered a compound fracture of the right leg after a fall on Prudence Island. With no local medical aid or mainland communication available the Sand Point Lighthouse keeper flashed an SOS. The Shrub lighthouse tender then moved him to Bristol and the Colt Memorial ambulance transported him to Rhode Island Hospital.
