The observance of Grand Army Flag Day and Abraham Lincoln's birthday took place in public schools on Wednesday with a State program from Commissioner Walter E. Ranger. The Bristol Teachers' Association held a Valentine bridge party yesterday afternoon in the John Post Reynolds school auditorium. Fifteen tables were in use and prizes were awarded to table winners. A collation was served by the organizing committee led by chairwoman Miss Eleen ID Moore, with members Miss Veronica Trainor, Miss Rose Pozzi, Mrs Katherine Lavander, Miss Margaret F Dwyer, Miss Mary Kisella, Miss Helen T Scanlon, and Miss Mary M Connors.
Pasquale D Alessio Injured In Auto Crash
Pasquale D Alessio of 29 Usher Avenue sustained fractures of three ribs in a two vehicle crash at High and State Streets. The truck driver Gene Accard of 252 Wood Street and Chelsie Amburn of 611 Congress Avenue Providence were involved. Amburn’s car struck the truck from the east, overturning the truck on its left rear. D Alessio was treated by Dr John R Bernardo and sent home. Amburn was ordered to appear at the Fifth District Court session Monday morning.

Providence Man Arraigned for Drunken Driving

The Bristol Train of Artillery plans a Washington Ball at the State Armory on Friday February 2. A large social event is anticipated with a grand march and dances to a full orchestra, a promenade concert from 8 to 9, and a concert by the Train’s Military Band conducted by Sergt George Swan. The Bates dancing class from Providence will perform during intermissions, and Cal and Mrs Merriman will host Governor and Mrs Case prior to the ball at their Hope street home.

Fire Department Ball Planned by Four Volunteer Companies
A meeting of the general committee of the four volunteer fire companies Dreadnaught Hydraulion Defiance and Ever Ready was held at the Hydraulion station to arrange the annual fire department ball.
