Steamer Larchmont Sinks After Collision Near Look Island
Special to the Phoenix. The Joy Line steamer Larchmont, 200 passengers, left Providence for New York last night and collided with a schooner off Look Island. The vessel sank almost immediately and more than 20 bodies were washed ashore this morning. 11 people are known to have been saved.

Ministers Push for Full Publicity in Thaw Trial
At a Providence union meeting of evangelical ministers the body unanimously urged maximum publicity for the Thaw trial calling it the greatest moral lesson of the age. The New York District Attorney warned newspapers that further obscene coverage could lead to criminal prosecution, a step he says should have occurred at the trial’s start.
