Fishermen hope cove reopens as shellfishing price dip noted
Allen Harbor in Davisville remains closed to fishermen for security reasons with a 30 day extension. The Quito Shellfish Co reports quahogs down to 4 cents and littlenecks to 10 cents per pound due to a glut from new Long Island fishing areas and good local weather. Prices may recover with Lent. Benny Brayton steps down from Bus ter Moran's Thais to fish. Edgar Brayton takes over. Seagull antics at sea provide comic relief among shell fishermen. Boat names and local lore thread through the piece, ending with selling points from Miami and rising marine engine sales.
