Bristol Safety Council Formed Discusses Traffic Reform

Jewish Jubilee Fete Slated For March 6

Sunday evening March 6 marks the jubilee celebration of the Chavera Agudas Achim Temple parishioners in Bristol. Dr Morris B. Grossman president of the Temple announced an elaborate program with speakers and entertainment to honor 38 years since the synagogue founding.

Mid-Year Rotary Assembly in Boston Draws District Members

Mysterious Note Found In Bottle Off Hog Island

Two Bristol fishermen found a four ounce bottle with a crude note reading a threatening message and names Rosers Anna Sherman Charless sherman. Police Chief Ferrara sent teletype inquiries to Rhode Island Connecticut and Massachusetts departments for clues with no replies by late today. Kenneth McKenzie and William Warner located the bottle on Hog Island Saturday around 4 PM near the south side and a cork stamped Portugal was noted.

Annual Assay Commission Convened at United States Mint

Mrs Nelle Tayloe Ross will convene the Annual Assay Commission at 10:00 am in the United States Mint at Philadelphia for the ceremony marking the yearly trial of the coins. Secretary Morgenthau noted the commission's origins dating to 1801 with three ex-officio members and procedures for testing silver coins from mints including the use of the pyx chest for secure delivery.
