Marguerite Kebtek announces she chairs a committee of arrangements for a ham and bean supper sponsored by J Hope Chapter Order of Eastern Star. The event starts at 6 p m on February 25 in the Masonic Temple with Mrs Adeline Klein as matron and a list of assisting officers.
Several candidates were discussed to succeed Dr John R Bernardo as chairman of the Republican Town Committee at a meeting held at Chairman Floyd B Huestis home. The nominating committee will return to the parent committee on Feb 1 with at least one name for the post.
Mrs. Sarah Burnham Church, 75, died Friday at Warren Nursing Home. Funeral service held at George M. Wilbur Memorial Chapel with Canon Daniel K. Davis officiating. Burial in North Cemetery. She was widow of Dr. Howard W. Church and a Bristol Chil dren's Home director. Survived by brother Benjamin Paull and sister Miss Martha B Paull.
Frances Hackley nee Gregory aged 61 of 8 Hardritz avenue Warren died yesterday in Fall River hospital after a long illness. Born June 24 1888 in Ellenboro NY she was daughter of Patrick M Gregory and Frances Trudell. Widow of Samuel S Hackley she was a St Marys Church communicant and mother of 6 with 14 grandchildren. Funeral Thursday 8:15 from Connery funeral home to St Marys for 9 a.m. Mass. Burial St Marys Cemetery.
Miss Caroline Mixedanday daughter of Mr and Mrs Ricardo Mizranda and Gordon McKay Morrison son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Williams were married in the rectory of St Elizabeth Church at 9 15 Saturday morning. The Rev Henrique Rocha Dastor officiated and a reception followed at the bride’s parents home. The couple will live at 278 Wood Street after a trip to New Hampshire.
Miss Beverly May Maetozo and Joseph Toste Jr wed in a 9 o clock ceremony at St Elizabeth Church. Rev Jose J Pimental officiated the nuptial Mass with organist Anna Peters and soloist Anthony J Nunes. The bridal party included Hilda Correia and bridesmaids Sarah and Virginia Toste. Best man Matthew G Maetozo and ushers Joseph Cavara Joseph Francis and George Travers. The couple plans a wedding trip and residence in Richmond. A second ceremony joined Lena Berry and Albert Hoffman at St Elizabeth's with a dinner at Midway Steak and Lobster House. The bride wore ivory satin with orange blossoms and carried white roses. Pauline Gammino served as maid of honor with pink roses. The couple will live at 17 Third Street after a trip to New York and Pennsylvania.
