Pollution Abatement Committee Reads Bristol on Cooperation

F Nelson Blount urged town action before the Town Council, saying the Pollution Abatement Committee will press for state and local measures to clean Narragansett Bay and curb oil pollution. He noted plans to involve the Legislature, the League of Women Voters, and area towns including Fall River and Taunton, with a three year horizon.

Giusti Re Hear Request as Zoning Board Revisits Case

Zoning Board, at the urging of Elia and Concetta Giusti, reversed a November decision and will rehear the case from scratch on March 6. The hearing seeks a 5 ft backyard depth instead of the 25 ft required. The board also postponed Antonio Borges’s change from Residence D to Industrial H and seeks a council amendment to allow bakeries and bottling works in any district after a hearing.

Colt Faces Cumberland In Intercity Class C Showdown

Cumberland High School travels to Andrews Gym to challenge Colt Memorial in a Valley Falls league game. The Bristolians won 47 43 in their January meeting after a nine point fourth quarter surge. Over 60 K of C Members to Be Honored in Bristol Banquet

More than sixty Bristol Council No. 379 Knights of Columbus members will be honored at a turkey banquet on Lincoln's Birthday February 12 at 6 pm at the K of C Home on State Street. U S Rubber Co Team to Play Woonsocket Plant Five

The U S Rubber Co basketball squad meets the U S R Plant of Woonsocket in the second half of a double header at Andrews Gym tomorrow night. Brunomen’s Woonsocket team fell 51 to 43 in the prior game.
