Norfolk tanker Norfolk docks in Providence on first voyage
The Cities Service supertanker Norfolk, 661 feet long, tied at Providence delivering kerosene and fuel oil during its first voyage. Captain Donald McDonalds led the Boston skipper with first mate Peter Viera as pumps ran at 2000 gallons per hour. McCaw, 32, has spent years at sea with Cities Service, aided by fog shrouding the bay on the return trip.
