In a month of intensive infantry and artillery training Battery C 243rd Coast ASUS trains for a scheduled federal inspection tonight at the armory on Church Street. Major Rowland and M. G. cart will supervise with 30 regulars. Lieut. Fan Webister inspects for the regiment. Capt. Ac. A. Moren leads the unit boasting a strong record since 1928 and a 10 inch disappearing gun. Two ERA checks will cover part of the restitution, after investigators found the wife worked in a mill and the couple earned more than the family relief budget during unemployment.

Firemen Battle Snowbound Chimney blaze at Mt Hope Farm
Bristol firemen reached Superintendent Joseph Currier's Mt Hope Farm after heavy snow and slippery roads to extinguish a chimney fire causing minor damage. The 1000-gallon triple combination pumper slid off the private road, requiring a cut tree and tractor to recover. A Samuel J. Smith car driven by Fire Chief Robert J. Harbor Ice Covers Harbor For Week With Skaters
The harbor froze last week with ice coating the surface. An ice-boat and several skaters were seen on Thursday. Capt Paquin attempted to clear a passage on Friday in the Anna M for Prudence trips. Temperatures stayed near zero, dipping to 8 below in the morning. By weekend, skaters used the upper harbor as thaw began late Sunday and skating remained risky.
