Betty Jean Bertrand and Ronald Rene married Saturday at St Joseph's Church Providence in a 10 am ceremony. Rev Theodore Schmaltz officiated. The bride wore a peau de soie gown with lace and seed pearls. maid of honor and bridesmaids wore red cocktail gowns. The couple, crown bearer Deniel Rene and others celebrated at the Yacht Club then left for a midwest honeymoon. The bride and groom earned local school and college degrees.

Cub Pack Six outlined plans for its annual Blue and Gold banquet at St. Mary's Church auditorium on Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. Reorganization updated leadership roles with Jerry Reynolds and Uriel Sousa Jr named, Joan St Angelo resigning as committee chair. The group also announced a kite flying contest for March 9 at the town beach and discussed an April minstrel show. Awards were given to multiple cubs for wolf and bear badges and arrows, while Steven W. Baker moved to Troop Two and den chiefs received recognition. New den mothers were introduced as Boy Scout Week was noted for Feb. 7-13 with Mass attendance and communion planned.
