Bristol Boy Scout drive sets county quota at $1600

The third annual campaign for Boy Scouts in Bristol County will open with 20 solicitors to raise a county total of 1600, Bristol’s share. District chairman Howard E. Munroe outlines three division teams led by W Fred Williams John E Conley and Amory S Skerry. The drive supports 10022 scouts 2000 leaders and funds for Camp Yawgoog and staff payrolls. A formal kickoff dinner is set for Monday at Narragansett Hotel Providence with a March of Time film Young America.

Anderton elected president of St. Andrew's Club

William Anderton was elected president of the Senior Group of St. Andrew's Club at its annual meeting on Monday evening. Bristol Teachers Play Basketball For Infantile Paralysis Fund

In Bristol the public school teachers played a charity basketball game at Andrews school gym against Warwick’s Lockwood high school faculty to raise funds for infantile paralysis. A crowd of 146, including 96 students, contributed 22.10 with 4 spent on expenses, the rest to the fund. Bristol lost 34-33 in the final minute after leading much of the game.

Student Injured at School Planing Machine Incident

Hilario Moniz an Andrews Memorial senior high student suffered a severe laceration to his right thumb when his hand was caught in a planing machine at the school. He was treated by Dr. Paul Bruno and required three stitches to close the wound.

United Boys Club Guests Riverside Tonight

The seniors of the United Boys Club of Bristol and their supervisors will be guests tonight of the Riverside Boys for a motion picture program. Anthony Thurston of Swansea Mass will speak on Minerals at a meeting tomorrow night in clubrooms on Constitution Street. A movie and refreshments will be other features.

Educator Calls Unemployment Crisis Among Rhode Island Youth
