Kinder Case Mandamus to Allow Kinder Children in Bristol Schools
A mandamus writ compelled Superintendent John P. Reynolds to appear in Superior Court with Town Solicitor E I Brownell to explain why Ralph and Hannah Kinder aged 7 and 9 were kept from Bristol public schools. The judge postponed the case to Tuesday 12:15 PM. The Kinder family, represented by Samuel Kinder, had been refused admission after a medical inspector cited illness among siblings. Reynolds said the matter falls outside his jurisdiction and that the children would likely return to school next Monday.
