Council To Receive New Building Code Tuesday
Building Inspector Otis M Bailey will present the Abridged Building Code to the Town Council at Tuesday evening's meeting. The code, an offshoot of the Basic Building Code, targets towns under 15 000 population and covers design, construction, alteration, demolition and moving for one and two family and small multi family dwellings up to 40 feet high. It requires permits and two sets of plans before any building work. Bailey notes its aim is public safety and modernized standards.
