Hearing on Supt controversy ordered by RI education officials
Three school committee members seek to void Ennis Bisbane’s appointment as superintendent arguing a waiver of state advertising and screening rules was obtained illegally. A public hearing will be held January 18 in Providence before Associate Commissioner William P Robinson, with a written decision to follow.

Town approves truce on tree care bids and guidelines
Town Administrator Anthony Agatiello and officials reached a truce with Kinder and Almeida tree firms over assignments. New guidelines require bid for jobs over 1000 dollars and route emergency work to the DPW director with Tree Warden input. For routine work the Tree Warden will prepare a removal and planting list, submitted to Public Works. Emergency and budget details cited with a 14500 year budget exhaustion and a 924 deficit.
