Raymond Sartini announces the Bristol Boy Scout Bugle and Drum Corps project raised funds for new uniforms instruments and equipment ahead of the 1950 season. Proceeds fund corps equipment and uniforms while plans for an annual tree drive are set with reports due in January 1950.
The funeral of Joseph V Medeiros 31 who died Tuesday in Truesdale Hospital after a short illness was held this morning at 8 15 from J E Connors Funeral Home State street with a solemn high Mass of requiem in St Elizabeths Church at 9 30. The Rev Henrique Rocha pastor was celebrant assisted by the Rev Luiz Pacheco deacon and the Rev Jose Pimental sub deacon Father Pimental conducted the committal service in St Mary Cemetery. Bearers were Manuel Cruz of Cranston John Lewis Manuel Lewis Joseph Lewis Virgil Arruda and Manuel Costa all of this town.
Public notice states the Zoning Board of Review will meet January 5 1950 at 7 30 pm in the Burnside Memorial Building to hear a request from Joseph Di Donna to rezone Lot 53 on Borges Plat east side of Metacom Avenue Bristol. The Town Council requested the hearing.
The court will be in session at the Probate Court Room on the dates stated in notices below at 10 o'clock for hearing said matters.

Cpl. Irene Gallagher of the Women's Army Corps returned to Fort Leavenworth Kansas after a one month furlough at her home on 24 Williams Street. She formerly supervised the latex department at U S Rubber Co and will sail to Japan in January after reporting back to Kansas.
United States Rubber Company acquires the Martin Company Chemicals division including Marvinol vinyl resin plant in Painesville Ohio and Baltimore lab equipment. The Marvinol plant will continue producing Marvinol for plastic manufacturers. The deal places the assets into the Naugatuck Chemical division as MSR broadens its chemical operations.
A health column explains tuberculosis can be advanced or early, stressing that early diagnosis via chest X rays aids cure and that even early cases can spread disease. It notes rising screenings by health departments and the Bristol District Nursing Association sponsors the column for better health.
