Mor Mor Pressler, a 22 year old Israel pianist, will present a broad recital range under the Bristol Community Concert Association. His brief career includes performances with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Indianapolis and San Antonio symphonies, and New York Philharmonic. Born in Magdeburg, Germany, he fled to Palestine at age 10. in 1946 he read of a 1009 Dbassy prize and traveled to San Francisco for the contest, arriving just before the competition.

Homecoming of a wounded Korean War Marine
Cpl Ralph Nastri, 21, son of Mr and Mrs Andrew Nastri of 117 Bradford Street, returned home for Christmas on crutches after being wounded in Korea. He served with the Marines at Inchon, near the Changjin Reservoir, and the Pusan Perimeter, was evacuated to Japan, and later wired his family to not worry. He is expected to be transferred to Chelsea Naval Hospital.

Fire damages Oscar Pivin home on Hope Street
A bedroom fire at the Oscar Pivin residence 680 Hope Street triggered a general alarm at about 230 Sunday morning. The blaze caused an estimated 400 damage to the house and its contents. Fire Chief Robert J. Anderson said the origin was not yet determined.
