The United States Rubber Company will pay 1939 taxes totaling 26046.40 after a 60000 dollar valuation reduction was agreed by the Board of Tax Assessors and the company. Army crew demonstrates new anti aircraft equipment at Bristol

A six man Army crew under Lieut Odenweller demonstrated the 30 caliber standard anti aircraft gear against low flying planes at Ft Adams and Providence recruiting events in Bristol. Set Reid, Providence Recruiting Office, will interview applicants at the Post Office until Sunday while listing 16 vacancies in Battery A Fort Adams and 325 in the Panama Coast Artillery detachment for Newport.

The engagement of Alma Lucille Marino to John M Viggiani of Brooklyn NY was announced by Mr and Mrs Joseph Marino of 199 State Street. Christmas Festival At St Michael's School

St Michael's Church School held its annual Christmas Festival last evening in the parish house. Canon Parshley presided as pupils teachers and friends joined in carols and a play Santa distributed gifts and fruit.
