Antonio Foti 81 Cortland street Providence former Bristol resident died Christmas morning at his brother William Foti 625 Wood Street Bristol after arriving for the holiday He was found unconscious on the sun parlor floor and died despite medical aid An autopsy was performed and stomach contents sent to the State Board of Health He had worked at National India Rubber Co and served as a factory council representative Survived by his father three sisters two brothers The funeral was held at William Foti's home with Mass at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church Burial in St Mary's Cemetery.

Fire destroys old house on Poppa Squash Road
A Saturday fire fully destroyed the two and a half story stone and wooden dwelling occupied by Jesse Sylvia off Poppa squash road. Fire crews battled flames driven by a northwest wind, saving neighboring buildings as water from two nozzles and 2200 feet of hose were deployed. The house, built 1800 and expanded in 1856, stood uninsured with total loss of contents.

Christmas Dinner Fund a Success in Kearney
The Kearney Post Christmas dinner fund reports 315 dinners distributed at Reynolds School basement with steady attendance and thanks to contributors. Four and a half tons of food were used. 278 baskets handed out on site and 37 delivered to those unable to call. Total cost 374.09 dollars with a 3.22 dollar balance. Donors include Mrs Robert M Nelson, Epworth League, Nathaniel G Herreshoff, Jamess A McKenna, Rotary Club, Bristol Teachers Association, and others supporting a season of Christmas cheer for townspeople.
