About 41 boys from the local YMCA spent a day at the Newport YMCA enjoying swimming and indoor sports supervised by Anthony E Agatiello. They toured the city with Agatiello and will make a similar trip during the public school winter recess to the Providence YMCA.

Chet Nichols of the Boston Braves spent three hours in Bristol during the off season as a goodwill agent for the Infantile Paralysis Foundation. In a WALE interview with Charlie McHugh Nichols said Lou Pieri of the Rhode Island Auditorium asked him to promote Ice Capades ticket sales to benefit the foundation.
