Community carol singing draws 1200 on cold Bristol night
Old Bristol Common hosted a vivid Christmas event under the Community Christmas Observance committee with Kearney Post No 6 American Legion. About 1200 people joined in singing carols despite a cold 10 degree night and snow. The program, titled The Christmas Story in Song, featured Morton Giles reading the Nativity, choral and quartet performances, and a large, well-lit Christmas tree.

The camp hosts over 2 000 youths and families each summer. Cup Defenders Host Ninth Annual Christmas Party
The Cup Defenders Association hosted their ninth annual Christmas party for local children at Wood Street quarters. More than 300 youngsters attended with an amateur program and prizes won by listed participants. Food and treats were distributed and a full committee of volunteers organized decorations and activities. Cpl Pasquale Perroni arrived home from England after 29 months with the 8th Army Air Force, 1000th Bomb Group.
