Bristol Town Team beat Springfield Parkwoods 23 to 14 at the Naval Armory Friday evening. A 9-9 first half tie broke late as Bristol sparked by three late floor goals pulled away. Bristol Juniors then defeated the Boy Scouts 112 to 8 between halves.
Friday night the North Attleboro Five visits the armory to face a local five. The visitors are 5 wins and 3 losses this season and promise a tough defensive matchup. Notable players include Jack Knowles Pawtucket Ray Stewart Archie Walden Tom Smith Ray Knight Tad Fulton Doc Cook and F Smith. The cough drop brothers are described as two of the fastest college guards in New England.
The second annual Christmas tree party for local telephone exchange employees was held Thursday at 2 pm without service interruption. The event featured a decorated tree, gifts for 11 operators, and a switchboard replica donated by Victor I Miller.
Six year old Frederick Lopes, son of Mr and Mrs Lopes of 45 Oliver street, jumped onto a moving auto truck operated by Charles Blackman fruit dealer, fell off and sustained a seven inch scalp wound with possible internal injuries. Dr John R Bernardo treated him and notified police.
Federal Prohibition Director Sheldon foiled an attempted landing of intoxicants on the Colt Farm shore at Poppasquash. A power boat and trucks with a dozen men were seen Whitby the shore, triggering a police response before bootleggers escaped toward Providence.
Mrs Mary Alves 18 was shot in the back at her home by husband Joseph Alves a 32 calibre revolver held on a mantelpiece. Dr Harold DeWolf treated her and she was sent to Rhode Island Hospital. Alves says the gun was unloaded and discharged accidentally while he examined it.
The annual Bristol Girl Scouts Christmas party was held Friday at the YMCA with about 40 attendees. A large illuminated tree, festive decorations, gift exchanges via Santa Viola Palmer, games, and refreshments marked the event guided by Arleen Holm as chair and committee members.

Joseph Cunha living at 37 Usher avenue was arrested Saturday night at 9 after a complaint by Henry Beck, superintendent of the William L. McKee estate on Ferry road. He pleaded not guilty when arraigned before Justice Philip Brady and was released on $200 bond for Fifth District Court this morning. Beck says others in Ferry Hill may have lost ornamental trees and will investigate.
The Bristol Gun Club held a traps shoot at Fates Farm. Earle H. McKenzie and Dr. A. M. Merriman tied for first with 93. Merriman won the shoot off 25 to 24. Norman Hanson took second with 92 and W. H. Buffington Jr. third with 91. Other scores ranged down to 76.
