War Welfare Committee Sends 214 Boxes to Bristol Men in Service
The Bristol War Welfare Committee reports sending two hundred fourteen two pound confectionery boxes to Bristol men in the army in France training in the United States and naval service. Boxes went to Fort Rodman Camp Devens Camp Gordon Camp Charlotte and Fort Greble with Christmas cards from the Old Town. Letters from sailors in the U S S Salem praise the gifts and the committee's thoughtfulness.

Bristol Women Exceed Red Cross Quota By Big Margin
Bristol’s Red Cross membership drive far surpassed the goal with about 25 percent overage. Led by Mrs. William T. O'Donnell and teams from National India Rubber Company and other factories, the week’s receipts totaled 3152 dollars with an additional 140 after Saturday. The drive featured a busy lobby booth at the post office selling Christmas stamps and tallied strong gains across multiple teams and captains.
