Three year old dies after swallowing grip medicine

The eight year old Alfred Oliver son of Mr and Mrs Antone Oliver of 34 Thompson avenue died after consuming a large amount of grip medicine while alone in the kitchen. His mother found him later in convulsions and he died about ten minutes after Dr. A M Merriman arrived. Funeral was at 2 pm at the parents home and interment followed at St Mary's cemetery with floral tributes including a piece from the Divino Espirito Santo Association.

Christmas Sermons and Concerts Across Local Churches

Sunday Christmas sermons were given at State Street M E First Baptist and First Congregational Churches. Congregational offerings featured the choir performing Star of the Orient Sing Heav ens and Angels from the Realms of Glory. The First Congregational Sunday School held its annual Christmas concert with a full program of readings recitations and songs led by Rev T Newton Owen and Superintendent O H Cogge.

Obituary for Frank Tierney a well known Bristol resident

Frank Tierney died this forenoon after a long illness from a complication of diseases. Born in Ireland, he worked as a coachman in Bristol and Providence before settling in Taunton, Massachusetts. Unmarried, he had lived with relatives in Bristol recently and was widely liked for his genial disposition.
