Bristol School Committee Votes to Seek Special Town Meeting
At a last Friday meeting the Bristol School Committee empowered its Executive Committee to petition the Town Council to call a special town meeting to act on buying the Bell block at Hope and Church streets for 15 000 dollars with 10 000 more to convert it into a schoolhouse. The meeting also passed a motion to transfer schools to hydrualics and Dreadnaught stations if needed and paid bills totaling 399 65. The committee mourned Superintendent Reynolds, elected new enumerators, and set dates for future sessions and class events.

Community Christmas Tree Brings Bright 40 Foot Display
Bristol hosts a large well lighted Community Christmas Tree on Friday Eve Christmas Eve. No gifts this year but at 9 pm choirs from local churches join in singing three carols near the tree. The 40 foot tree from Ezra Mason’s farm is lit by electricity and topped by a star. Mothers' Club led the drive with town groups providing funding.
