Bristol Red Cross to Use Paull House as War Headquarters
The Eugenia Paull home at 700 Hope Street was approved as a joint executive headquarters for the Bristol Chapter American Red Cross and the Defense Council during the war emergency. The first floor will host the Defense Council, the second floor will serve the Red Cross, with the communications center in the Legion Home basement. A heating system and renovations are planned before occupancy.

Bristol marks a 1941 Christmas season on the Common with over 850 lights, a large tree atop the bandstand, and trees at four entrances all lit nightly from 5 30 to 11. The manger scene near State street draws crowds as defense limits planned features.
