Events included a 2 mile bicycle race won by Frank Souza ahead of Norris, a 100 yard dash won by Frank Mott, and a potato race won by McShane with Allen. Observer Corps for Aid to Civil Defense Begins Training

Baptist Preacher Suffers Heart Attack at Christmas Party
Walter Swanson lay preacher at the First Baptist Church suffered a heart attack last evening at the Amicae Guild Christmas party. Fire Department Rescue Squad led by Capt. Charles Luther and Lt. Michael Flynn responded with oxygen and transported him home in his car to Cranston. He rested comfortably this morning though anxious to leave bed.

Kenneth F. Robinson son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Robinson of 963 Hope Street was nominated to day to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis by Senator Theodore F Green. Robinson a Colt Memorial graduate is attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy New York. He is principal nominee with three alternates and has passed the Annapolis entrance exam.

The 64 foot Coast Guard patrol boat CG64309 will patrol off the Bristol harbor for a Christmas event. Chief Robert Power announced a Santa visit at the Coast Guard depot. Santa will board a fire truck to the depot and distribute presents to local children and Coast Guard personnel.
