School deficit smaller than expected at Bristol meeting
Bristol school officials revealed a year end deficit smaller than anticipated due to $1 943 state aid shortfall. Superintendent Mapes outlined reopens of evening classes, bus route changes to ease overcrowding, highway safety talks, thrift emphasis and 100 percent school savings participation. Funds from the Robert Shaw Andrews Fund were approved for several bills.

Trinity Church Opens Parish House
The Parish Aid Society of Trinity Church plans a reception Thursday night for the opening of the new parish rooms in the old Dr Hasbrouck home at High and State streets. An eight o clock reception is led by Miss Mary Perry with members Mrs John Grabert Mrs William Harrup Mrs Winston Fetherston and Mrs Dorothy St Germaine. Rev John P Beauchamp rector of St John's Portsmouth blessed the altar and said mass at the first service in the new chapel. Regular parish services will be held there until a new church is erected.

Former Town Councilman Matthew G Maetoza was unanimously chosen to be school attendance officer at Andrews Memorial High School and named an assistant janitor. The two roles will share one salary of $960 annually less 3 percent, in an economy move. He will work three hours daily as truancy officer and six hours as janitor.
