The Belle of Barcelona at Colt Memorial High School

The Senior Class of Colt Memorial High School presents The Belle of Barcelona a three act play directed by Mrs. M Theresa Donovan. The production features a large cast including Luis de Montero Mathew Romano Gloria de Montero and Donalda Sapcier with a Spanish and English group and Marines among the roles. The show runs February 10 and 11 in the school auditorium with William Hogan as accompanist.

Hello Girls to Host Sunshine Club Christmas Party

The Sunshine Club operators at the local telephone exchange will hold a Christmas party on Thursday December 1 announced by head operator Dorothy Foster. There will be no service interruption. This year charity will be distributed as Christmas baskets to needy families with a January social planned to raise funds. The party committee includes Agnes Tattrie Marie Celone Frances Brones Mabel Lee Helena Wells and Dorothy Foster.

Christmas Carol Service by Alpha Chapter at DeWolf Chapel

The Alpha Chapter Christian Endeavor Society holds its annual Christmas carol service Sunday at 7 30 in DeWolf Memorial Chapel. Miss Sybil Anderson leads with assistants Miss Sally Church and others as familiar carols are sung. Special numbers by the Junior C E the Pilgrim Choral Society and the church quartet with Mrs Cora Shaw Anderson and Miss Nancy D Bosworth as accompanists.

Bristol Chapter D A R will stage a Christmas party Monday afternoon at the Chapter House on Franklin Street. Regent Mrs Charles O F Thompson will preside. guests include the Becker girls Miss Helen Barbara Alger and Home for Aged Women members. The program features carols, a reading of A Christmas Tree by Charles Dickens read by Mrs Edward PD Kunz, and solos by Mrs Earl D Sturdevant. American Legion Basket Fund Seeks Dinners for Needy

Kearney Post No 6 launches its twelfth campaign to provide Christmas dinners to Bristol families. Ninety eight names have been submitted. final deadline is Wednesday December 15. Contributions invited through B W Wall at 539 Hope Street or 3% Cook Street and coordinated with local churches and welfare groups for careful selection and economical purchases.

Bristol County Safety Council Plans December Public Meeting

The executive committee of the Bristol County Safety Council met at the Local Rubber plant office. Members present included Arthur J. Leckie Michael Pasquarelli and J Frahea plus O Reid LeClair John E Conley John P Child and Joseph Lewis. Thomas Collins was absent. A safety program was outlined for presentation at the next open meeting in Warren Town Hall Fifth District courtroom on Thursday December 16 at 8 pm.

Jeff Davis a renowned writer and editor will be the speaker at the Father and Son supper hosted by the Men's Union of the First Congregational Church. A successful food and fancy article sale was held yesterday afternoon in Briggs Store Church street by the Mite Society of The First Baptist Church. The arrangements committee was chaired by Mrs. Henry Cambell and included Mrs. Fred Mott, Mrs. Charles Liscomb, Miss Dorothy Mott, Miss Lucy Wall and Mrs. Eber W. Hill.

Four organizations sponsor a Bristol Basketball Town League with four teams. A board of governors will govern the league with three neutral members. A meeting next week will select managers coaches and rosters and set playing days referees fees and game locations.

Noted Preacher Rev Albert C Thomas to Speak at St Michael's

Reverend Albert Clark Thomas DD pastor of the First Baptist Church will lecture at St Michael's on Sunday as part of a series titled What My Church Holds In Trust for the United Church of the future. Thomas is a leading Baptist figure in the region and will address churchgoers on the subject.
