King Philip's Fair Opens With Large Attendance

The ninth annual King Philip Steam Fire Engine Company fair began Saturday evening at Artillery Armory on State street. Attendees enjoyed decorated halls, dancing, and Straight Brothers Orchestra providing music. Various societies and fire companies from Warren and Providence planned to attend on upcoming nights and dates in December and early January.

Bristol D A R Meeting Reviews Daughters Day at Jamestown

Bristol Chapter D A R held its December meeting in Memorial Hall with good attendance. Regent Mrs. Easterbrooks presided as Mrs. Dixon read Longfellow and Miss Mancester noted Daughters Day at the Jamestown exposition. The House of Rest, a replica of Malvin Hill, cost 5500 dollars and will be cared for by the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities in colonial style.

Deer Sightings Mentioned Near Bristol Neck

Reported yesterday afternoon around 4 o clock a deer was seen near Morris Bros ice houses at Bristol Neck. The fine specimen came from Pappasquash and crossed a pond ice edge toward Warren as workers repaired the ice houses. Robert J. McKay notes several deer on Daniel Case s farm estate recently and birds are tame enough to enter the barnyard while no hunting is allowed on the premises.
