Town Borrows on Sewage Plant Notes at Short Meeting

Local Youths Arrested For Insulting Girls
Manuel Coite aged 17 of 29 East State Street and Rudolf Trudell aged 16 of 33 East State Street, along with two juveniles, were arrested Sunday evening by local police for revelling. They accosted tormented and insulted young women on their way to church. Coite and Trudell were jailed in Bristol County Jail while the two youths were released. They appeared before Justice of the Peace Philip Brady and were released in $100 bail for trial next Monday in the Fifth District Court.

Moonshine Stills Found After Fire at Mount Hope Ave
Firefighters called to a noon blaze at 189 Mount Hope Avenue, a three story tenement owned by Pasquale Aiello, led police to a 200 gallon moonshine still, 54 mash casks, vats, gas plates and sugar. Patrolman Cashin found a second still next door at 187 Mount Hope Avenue, with 150 gallons still and 64 mash barrels. Michael Pedro claimed ownership of both stills and was ordered to appear before a U S commissioner on liquor charges. Federal agents destroyed the stills and mash. no house damage reported.
