Civil War Veteran Found Suffering Hunger in Barn Shed
Michael McCarty, a 66 year old ex soldier from Bangor Missouri and former resident of the Soldiers Home, was found in a Minturn farm shed after twelve days with no food or drink. He roped into a hay nest, frozen toes and delirium, and was taken to the Soldiers Home Hospital where he shows signs of recovery. Two boys alerted local men who rescued him and secured his care.

December Session of Bristol County Common Pleas Opens
The December session of the Common Pleas Division of the Supreme Court for Bristol county convened yesterday with Judge Blodgett presiding. Indictments included Peter Valley for breaking and entering and larceny. Valley pled guilty and received 11 months in jail. Several civil and criminal matters were continued or dismissed. the term adjourned to February.

Officers elected include Rev John F Downing as President and Chaplain Bernard F Morris as Vice President Walter Kerr Recording Secretary Augustus V Connery Financial Secretary Patrick P Walsh Treasurer Thomas Mahoney Sergeant at Arms John Murphy Assistant Librarian Joseph Maytum Janitor Joseph E Duran and Board of Government James J Walsh with committees for Investigating Hall Sick and others.
