Bristol Resident Named Brown Community Fund Treasurer

Walter S. DeWolf of Bristol has been named assistant chairman and treasurer of the Brown Community Fund at Brown University. The fund drive, sponsored by the Brown Christian Association, pools undergraduate contributions for benevolent organizations. DeWolf, a Brown junior and Asheville School alumnus, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.

Towns unofficial fox hunting record set by DiMezza

Louis DiMezza of 119 High Street bagged a large female red fox Wednesday morning near Hopeworth Avenue for the season’s unofficial Bristol record. He hunted rabbits with his father Albert and brother Chucky as his two hounds cornered the fox and he fired one shell from a 16 gauge. The animal will be stuffed and shown in the DiMezza home. there is a $5 bounty per the town clerk.

Welfare Dept Decrease in November Aid in Bristol

Orlando J Bisbano Bristol public welfare director reports a lower average weekly expenditure in November despite a five week month. The November average was 628 dollars versus 707 in October, with 182 new aid cases in November compared to 229 in the same month of 1950.
