Children from Newport Providence and Bristol stage an afternoon of songs and dances for Rhode Island Soldiers Home veterans on Sunday. Birthday gifts were given to William L Collins 92 and other veterans including George Townsend Eugene Beauregard Ernest Blonstron Arthur Knight Alvaro Oliver Edward Shea. Short talks by Mrs Susan Skeple Ex Sen Ezra Dixon George Smith and Mrs Bessie Boyle preceded performances by Henriettta Franklin Bernard Casey Marion Case George Koeschene Vivian Koeschene Sadie Miller and Charles Sartini Jr with piano accompaniment by Raymond Brightman.

Lions Club Speaker Outlines Policing and Youth Sentences

Death of George T Shepard Retired Town Resident
Ward was received here yesterday by Mrs. Robert Gray announcing the death of her uncle George T Shepard in West Boylston Massachusetts. He died yesterday morning in his 84th year. He recently lived with his son after moving from this town to New London Connecticut nearly 40 years ago. He is survived by his wife formerly Miss Mary J Patt, one son and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow from his late residence and the remains will be taken to Worcester for interment.

Bristol Couple Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary
Mr and Mrs Thomas E Clark of 48 Constitution Street observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary yesterday in Bristol. Married at St Marys Church on November 30 1881 the couple were joined by two daughters Marguerite Brown and J Pastile and four grandchildren. Mr Clark a Randolph Mass native worked 45 years at the National India Rubber Company before retirement. Mrs Clark a Bristol native is the daughter of the late Timothy McCarty. Both long active members of St Marys Church.
