Bristol Troops Return From Two Weeks Active Duty
Battery C of the 243rd Gun Battalion comes home to Bristol tomorrow just before noon after two weeks of active duty training. The unit spent eleven days at Camp Wellfleet on Cape Cod and two days at Camp Edwards. The encampment marks the first time its new radar equipment was used in firing missions. The 110 troops will depart Camp Edwards with guardsmen from Providence, Woonsocket and Newport aboard the convoy.

Canvassers Select High Bid For Printing Voting Lists

Sewer Repairs Complete After Major Bristol Sewage Leak
Emergency crew fixed a 14 inch cast iron force main on Oliver street Tuesday and Wednesday. Raw sewage treatment resumed after the leak forced Bristol to dump about a quarter of its output into the harbor. Rego and Sons Construction Co. identified the joint and packed it with shredded stud wool before re testing the line.

Gourmets Win Little League Championship
The Gourmets defeated the Plumbers 8-2 to clinch the 1956 King Philip Little League title in a two-hit shutout by Dick Ramos and reliever Johnny D Alessandro. Bill Coreira, Billy Josephs, and Eddie Menezes led the Gourmets with multiple hits as seven runs came in the first inning. the Plumbers scored both runs in the fifth.
