Knights of Columbus Indoor Bazaar At Mount Carmel

Bristol Council No 379 plans a three night indoor bazaar on September 6 7 and 8 at State Street home. Proceeds support Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish with Casey carnival horse racing booths and several decorated stalls. A St Marys Church women’s committee led by Mrs Sarah Sweeney will run suppers 5 to 8 pm nightly with assistants listed. Henry J Sylva Jr chairs the bazaar with helpers James Wylie Meiggs Tobin Connery King and Connell.

East Providence Chief Kavanaugh Fined $200 After DUI Trial

Bristol Police Chief Richard J. Kavanaugh was found guilty of operating a motor vehicle under the influence in East Providence. He received a $200 fine and costs, with bail set at $500 furnished by attorney James H Kiernan. The trial followed a two day hearing about injuries from a Bar rington Parkway crash and related concussion claims.

Visitors Pleased With Progress at New Factory

Local officials and prominent citizens toured the Paramede Shoe Company plant in Bristol after its move four weeks ago. About 125 workers are employed and will be paid after a three week training period. Outing Attracts 2000 Fans To East Warren Rod And Gun Club

More than 2000 Rhode Island sports lovers are expected at Fales Field in September for the East Warren Rod and Gun Club field day. A full schedule includes skeet, rifle and pistol demonstrations, casting, and a bank and police pistol meet with teams from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York. Gov Green will award top point scorers with gold, silver, and bronze medals.
