Defiance Wins Bristol County Water Battle Title

Defiance Engine and Hose Company defeats Massasoit Hook and Ladder of Warren on Bristol Common to claim the county championship using a single formation. Angelo Andrade devised the lineup, with a 2 2 nozzle setup, securing seven minutes and 15 seconds of direct hits and a two minute lead. Governor Green donated the trophy. Warren receives runner-up honors.

Garden Party at Mt Carmel Draws Large Crowd

A large gathering attended the lawn party by Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church’s associated societies on State Street grounds. Brown Manchester wedding at St Michael’s Church

Probation for Nicholas DeLello in ERA disturbance case

Nicholas DeLello, 19, of 11 Usher avenue, pleaded guilty to quarrelling, revelling, and indecency after a disturbance at ERA headquarters. Judge Benjamin F Lindemuth placed him on six months probation and admonished him not to be “fresh again,” with testimony by ERA administrator John G DesLauriers and Acting Police Chief Anthony J Ferrara. The incident occurred August 15 as he sought ERA reinstatement.

Bristol scouts near school return to Camp Takarest for a last week program. Sunday visitors day drew over 100 family members while the First Troop held a Camp-o-ree with water sports and a chowder supper. Hit and Run Driver Fined $15 and Costs
