Two New Fire Trucks Unloaded at Bristol Yard
Two new motorized fire trucks arrived Saturday at Bristol freight yards from New Haven. A 400-gallon triple combination with booster tank will serve Ever Ready Engine and Hose Company Thames Street, while a 350-gallon Cosmopolitan Brockway goes to Defiance Hose Company Bristol Neck. Tests and road runs are planned this week for both units before town approval.

Firefighters battled a fire in an unoccupied one story wooden cottage on Thames Street near Seth Paull Company coal pockets. Four companies responded to the Sunday morning alarm as chemicals were used to fight the blaze, which burned a roof hole. The Wardwell estate heirs own the building, deemed a fire menace by Fire Chief Grabert. Cause is unknown but suspected incendiary origin.

Warren police crackdown targets drunken drivers after midnight
Warren police launched a campaign to check vehicles from Bristol after midnight Sunday into Sunday morning at 1230. James F. McCabe of Fast Greenwich was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, pled guilty at a Fifth District Court session, and was fined $100 plus costs.

Albert Raddy pleaded guilty to assaulting Anthony Bouchard after a confrontation at the foot of Church street wharf. Raddy paid $25 and costs after sentencing by Judge Hammill.
