Ivy Guild Entertainment at St Michael's Church

Rockwell Hall overflowed for the Ivy Guild program at St Michael's Church. A varied evening of tableaux vocal and instrumental pieces impressed an audience including summer residents. Notable acts featured Miss Bessie Carr Miss Beatrice Howland Miss Kate Jenkins Miss Mary Wheelwright and many others with a Miss Primrose Colt standout. The event raised about 100 dollars and the program faced some printed copy jokes disclosed and apologized by Maus Wheelwright.

State Firemen's Muster Prep Nears in Warren

Preparations are nearly complete for the seventh annual field day and muster of the Rhode Island State Firemen's League to be held in Warren next Monday. A parade forms at 10:45 am followed by engine playout and hose reel races on Massasoit avenue, with prize money and banners awarded to top finishers.

Fire at N I R Co Plant Storehouse

Fire at the National India Rubber Company plant storehouse caused by overheated lamp-black barrels leading to spontaneous combustion last Sunday evening. A watchman found the fire around 7 pm and automatic sprinklers and pumps activated, water damage estimated at 500 to 600 dollars. losses insured.
