In the Tax Collector Amos S. Gorham’s office a rush of exchangers traded for old-fashioned five dollar bills. The bills came from a taxpayer settling accounts with a stack of pristine predepression fives. The currency was unusually clean and crisp, like new.

Former Rhode Island state senator Bertram W. Wall of this town will serve as toastmaster at the Rhode Island Young Republicans conference banquet at Watch Hill. Main speaker Joseph W. The Bristol Boy Scout Bugle and Drum Corps will give a 7 PM concert at Colt Memorial High School as a prelude to Sunday’s competition. Over twenty corps have accepted invites, with many more expected. registrations Sunday noon to 1 PM at Scout Hall.
