Bristol Neck Hope Street Sidewalk Project Set to Resume
After months of negotiations with state officials, Town Council President J Floyd Huestis and Relief Administrator Orlando J Bisbane secured assurance from WPA official Raymond E Massart that sidewalk work on Hope Street will restart between September 1 and September 15. The WPA had cut its quota last June, but the town will receive WPA assistance and materials from the state. Prior progress included sand and gravel laid along both sides of Hope Street up to the town line.

Coast Guardsman Fined for Endangering Driving Offense
Edmund L. Daley of the Coast Guard boat Anemone pleaded guilty to driving so as to endanger and driving without a license. He was fined $60 and costs, after an earlier morning accident injured Catherine Eggers of Brooklyn. The car was listed to Paul H. Locke of New London. Rita Lucille Serbst, daughter of Town Councilman Henry W. Serbst, was chosen to represent the community at the burning of the State House bonds and mortgages on September 9.
