Obituary of William F Fish of this town
William Fred Fish died Wednesday night at his home 9 Church street from tuberculosis of the lungs. He was born June 8, 1816, lived in this town over fifty years and ran a grocery and market business on Hope and Oberch streets and later on State street. A longtime member of United Brothers Lodge No 13 and an officer in Wampanoag Encampment, he held numerous positions in Odd Fellows, and served in Bristol Young Men's Christian Association, Bristol Train of Artillery, and other civic and religious roles. He left a steady, cheerful life and a strong community reputation as his best monument. His funeral arrangements are not stated.
