The stranger, said to be from Fall River, Mass, had wandered the area days and narrowly avoided a train near the crossing. Hubs Granted More Spokes Than the Hubby
A brief remark notes that hubs typically granted more spokes than the hubby, implying a common gendered distribution in domestic or social roles. The line suggests a comparative observation about partnership dynamics without detailing events or names.
Woman Defies Dealers in Girard Paint Trial
FE. W. Devoe & Co. recounts a letter to E. G. Easterbrooks praising Mrs. E. R. Bowman, a Girard druggist, for selling Devoe lead and zinc paint after local dealers refused. She widens demand, proving cheap paint can be costly long term as customers note paint goes farther and satisfaction rises.
