The first America's Cup race between Reliance and Shamrock III was halted by the regatta committee due to the chance it would not finish within the time limit. The 15 mile course to windward and return was begun with Reliance leading after five hours of light, fluky winds. The race was postponed until tomorrow under the rules.
Child actress Ethel Dyffryn and company will rehearse at Bristol Opera House starting Monday August 31 for a week. The following Labor Day week begins a season tour here. Other engagements include Beyond Pardon September 15 and Utah the Great Mormon Play January 1 among nine listed shows.
