Fourteen new members were admitted to Bristol Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles at a meeting in Eagle Hall Wood Street. They will be initiated August 28 in the same hall with a veteran member honored. Speakers included James O Connor secretary Central Falls Aerie Oscar Polomdon and James Healy trustees of the same aerie. Anthony J Nunes president introduced the speakers. Manuel Philips chairman announced plans for the bake on August 28 at Fales Grove.

Two Men Held For Stealing Wire In Bristol Larceny
Paul Silvia and his brother in law John DeConte Jr were charged by Bristol police with larceny of 12 rolls of auto cable and four electric light extensions valued at 30 from US Rubber Products Inc in Middletown Rhode Island. Silvia arraigned before Justice Hammill pled not guilty and held in 500 bail for Monday district court hearing. DeConte at liberty in 500 bond. Police said wire found in DeConte’s car during a Newport vehicle check led to arrest. DeConte had worked 27 years as a truck and ambulance driver at the Bristol factory.
