Henecy Fined $50 In Fifth District Court

Worcester driver Harry W. Henecy faced a Fifth District Court disposition after a crash on Hope street injuring seven. He pleaded to driving so as to endanger and received a $75 fine with costs. a no license charge was discontinued due to a licensed operator present. Also a Louis M. Tavares youth received a $50 fine for driving so as to endanger. An engagement announcement for Irene Hartley to Elwin Addison Hill was noted from Hope street.

Sea Scouts Save Cruiser From Disaster

Sea Scouts from Kearney Ship rescued a 32 foot cabin cruiser named Marbrun from a stormy night threat to capsize. They battled high waves to keep the vessel from breaking up and found a Bristol man, recently released from an institution, aboard claiming ownership.

Denish and Band To Play Free Bristol Concert

Ed Denish and his band will give a free concert Tuesday night in Bristol in front of Colt Memorial High School. State Education Department sponsors the event with traffic rerouting on Hope street from Bradford to State. James J. Velleca arranged the outing, following approval by Council President J. Floyd Huestis. Prof. George H Baldwin helped bring the program to town. The August 3 concert previous was well received.

Travers Wins Assault Case In Fifth District Court

Arthur Travers beat his brother in law Manuel Almeida in a court case after briefly acting as his own prosecutor. Judge William T O'Donnell intervened to examine witnesses. Almeida faces a $10 fine and costs appeal by Lucian Capone. Samuel Mott won possession and costs in a trespass and ejectment suit against James Almeida.

Auto Destroyed In Beach Terrace Road Fire

James Connors of 985 Hope Street had his car burn after a short circuit on Beach Terrace Road. He smelled smoke while driving on Hope Street, checked Gibson Road, then alerted a nearby home. Four volunteer fire units responded to the blaze.

Automobiles Collision on Hope Street Injures No One

Shit and Shit from Here and There Automobiles driven by James D Capussela and Manuel Dasunco collided on Hope Street opposite Gibson Road late Friday afternoon. Capussela rear ended a Ford Coupe while passing, both cars badly damaged but no injuries reported.
