Battery C Returns From Rigorous Infiltration Training
Battery C of the 243rd AAA AW Battalion completed the most rigorous training period at Camp Edwards. Cadets crawled through rough terrain under fire and shell bursts while 30 caliber bullets whizzed overhead. Corporal David Lawrence earned a special commendation for his course performance. The demonstration was witnessed by Gen. Bedell Smith staff officers. Battery C commander Capt. Raymond J. Makowsky said the unit benefited greatly, noting potential federal duty amid Korean War tensions influenced training.
