School Committee Elects Two New Staff For Colt Memorial High
At last evening’s meeting Superintendent Des Coudres recommended William C. Jones named sub-master of Colt Memorial High School at 900 a year. Miss Winifred Philleo of LeRoy was elected Household Arts instructor at 700 a year. Harry W. Peterson became Chief Engineer at 1040 a year. Janitors were chosen for Reynolds and Oliver schools, coal supplies set, and a tablet planned for Reynolds in memory of John Post Reynolds. Revised high school course and records system approved by Rhode Island Public Schools Commissioner. Tenants and bills noted. Rev. McCoy absent, has resigned from the committee.

Exemption Board Calls 100 Men in Second Session
The Sixth District Exemption Board opened its second session at the Y M C A gymnasium at 9 am. One hundred men are to be examined today, another 100 tomorrow, and 50 Thursday. The board has already granted 191 exemptions, mostly for aliens, with more first-call cases to be settled this week. A lengthy list follows naming Bristol and nearby residents exempted or discharged from U S military service.
