Edmund Rex Dies at 60 Noted Tax Expert and Attorney

Edmund Searle Rex a Harvard Law School graduate died suddenly after resting on a Bristol Highlands community court bench. Medical examiner ruled natural causes. He was a Republican campaign leader for Wendell Wilkie in the area and served in WWI and the RI National Guard Air Service. He leaves wife Marion and daughter, and several siblings. Funeral Thursday at St Stephen's Providence with burial Swan Point.

Aronne Enters Army Service

Neil J. Aronne 20 of 102 Constitution Street left for U S Army service voluntered for duty after two years at Providence College studying political science and RO TC member. He served with the 479th Chemical Service Bn reserve unit commanded by Lt Col Matthew Capone and worked as a Bristol state house page while in college. He graduated Bristol Senior High School in 1950 and played football in school.

Bristol Loses State Junior Legion Final to Kennedy-Collins Post

The last Bristol baseball hopes fell Sunday at McGay Stadium Pawtucket as Kearney Post defeated Bristol 6 to 1 in the decisive third game of the best of three for the state Junior American Legion title. Art Quirk and Joe Cavallaro pitched for Bristol. Kennedy-Collins Post posted five hits and rode solid defense to the victory.
